Description

Designed for radiologists and head and neck (ear) surgeons who would like to become more confident in reading temporal bone studies will benefit from the fellowship. The training will cover all essential topics related to temporal bone imaging and will include both basic and more advanced knowledge to report.

The temporal bone radiology fellowship will cover anatomy, CT/CBCT and MR techniques and most of the congenital, traumatic, inflammatory and tumoral pathology occurring in the external, middle and inner ear. Imaging findings in patients with conductive and sensorineural hearing loss, vertigo, tinnitus, blue drum etc. will be discussed. Also, more advanced topics on imaging in Meniere’s disease, pre- and post-op imaging in cochlear implant candidates, post-op evaluation of the middle ear etc. will be explained. The participants will review the images first by themselves and then together with the mentor and the group.

Each day ends with a common reading session of the cases with interaction and discussion with the participants and the mentor. At the end of the programme, you will be able to image and report temporal bone studies. Participation in this temporal bone radiology fellowship is limited, resulting in a personal learning experience among your peers. In these small groups, all questions can be asked, you can make mistakes, and you can learn from each other with the support of the radiologist mentor.

Unilabs Academy online radiology fellowships are held in a virtual classroom on Zoom. You are encouraged to engage in discussions using their camera and microphone to recreate the face-to-face experience. Online sessions are recorded so that you can review them on your own time following the training. Was president of the European Society of Head and Neck (ESHNR) and received the Gold-Medal Lifetime Achievement from this Society in 2018 and also became Honorary Member of the European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR) in 2024.
